Assignment Details

Our Client's team is a leading financial adviser on debt financing and PPP/PFI/ Project Finance transactions to public and private sector clients based in the UK and overseas, in the following sectors: Defence, Education, Energy & Natural Resources, Health, IT & Telecom and Real Estate.


The team offers wide ranging advice in relation to major projects, from feasibility studies, through project structuring, evaluation & negotiation, through to financial close and post-contract services (such as refinancing & variations).


Based in the London office, the role will be at Manager level, working on a wide range of transactions and business development opportunities, ensuring these are carried out to a high quality level, reporting to an Associate Director, Director or Partner to ensure delivery of successful deal/transactions.

The Responsibilities


The key responsibilities of the role are:



  • Project managing individual transactions

  • Negotiating alongside clients on transactions

  • Carrying out borrower and lender research

  • Developing Sector and product knowledge

  • Overseeing the development and evaluation of financial models with the capability to sensitise key inputs and stress test financial covenants

  • Drafting and reviewing information memoranda, bid documentation, issues papers and reports prepared for external consumption

  • Assisting on pitching for new work, including the preparation and presentation of documentation

  • Participating proactively in other team business development activities

  • Liaising with team and ensure they are fully briefed

  • Delegating work to, supervising and developing team members

  • Reporting to clients and Partners and Directors on transaction progress

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, legal advisers and lenders

  • Liaising with clients on any issues that arise

  • Identifying problem areas suggesting solutions/seeking advice for solutions

  • Performance management and coaching junior staff as required and

  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Candidate Specification

Qualifications,?p>


  • All UK staff who have not passed a Financial Services Authority (FSA) approved exam will be required to do so

  • Educated to degree level and

  • Studying for a professional qualification is optional for experienced Corporate Finance staff who join with no professional qualification.


Experience



  • Relevant experience gained in a related environment. A project finance background would be beneficial

  • Experience of large, highly complex assignments would be well regarded

  • Developed understanding of PPP/PFI process and rationale

  • Broad knowledge of funding project finance transactions and

  • Commercial understanding and business acumen.
